Worm Calling??!!

This is one of the strangest things I’ve ever heard of “Worm Calling”  as soon as I heard about it I starting reading more….the practice of calling worms has been going on for hundreds of years.  Seagulls and turtles along with other animals call worms.  Apparently its quite easy to do.

What you need to do is send vibrations into the ground to drive the worms to the surface.  Some say the vibration mimics rain and the worms come up out of the ground to avoid drowning.

You can actually make a “worm grunting” stick.  One stick is smooth and the other is rough, notched out like a saw.  Take the smooth stick and put it about 6 inches into the ground , take the notched out stick and use a sawing motion across the other and voila worms! There are quite a few other methods to use when calling worms just grab a metal garden tool and tap it on the ground.

Happy grunting!
