Mother Nature and the Snow Day

Destruction of tree limbs due to ice storm

The girls usually put a spoon under their pillows if there is an impending storm this is their ritual to bring on the beloved snow day… Well it worked!!   It was a finally a “snow day” , busses had been cancelled! No school!

I usually go to work, on snow days but yesterday I stayed home, we had received freezing rain over night and were still under a freezing rain warning so I made the choice to stay home.

I’m so glad I did.

It was one of the best days spent at home I’ve had in quite a while, weekends are usually quite busy driving here and there, house work, shopping, sleepovers, but not yesterday .  I actually got some baking done and did a little crafting I haven’t done that in such a long time and I forgot how much fun it was and how much I loved it.  The girls had a great day putting finishing touches on the Christmas tree and just lounging around and napping off and on all day.

There is just something special about a snow day so much better than a day off,  long weekend or holiday time.

It was a “take time to enjoy your day” day . 🙂

Thank you Mother Nature

  1. They’re so nice because they’re unexpected. It’s a wonderful surprise sometimes.

Glad you had a nice day! We’ve been having unseasonably warm weather here, so no snow yet. It just doesn’t feel like Christmas :/
