Bloggers block and coloring

Why am I having such a hard time writing about something???? It’s extremely frustrating , I have so many ideas floating around in my head, I think it’s a bit like clutter, I just don’t know where to start, maybe I should just close my eyes and just start typing and see what happens.
Ok I’m closing my eyes………typing, typing I am getting sleepy. 😀

I’ll start again….closing my eyes again

My daughter had curling practice tonight , she goes three times a week.

The conversations we mums and dads have are usually quite enlightening and funny, there is often quite a bit of laughter coming from our little “peanut gallery” we solve many of the world problems in an hour and a half 🙂
My friend Paula invited us all to a “Canvas Cafe” just for ladies, at the Library on Thursday night, it a class instructed by a local artist and she will supply everyone with a canvas etc a quick lesson a cup of coffee or tea and your on your way to creating a one of a kind piece which mine most certainly would be I really have no artistic talent my brother and sister got the creative gene , which brought up a conversation later with another friend of mine Lynette, I told her about  my love of coloring …. yes it’s true my name is Angie and I love to color, not kids coloring books but these cool things my mum got me onto a few years ago they are called mandalas, I was not very well at the time and needed something to occupy my timetother than focusing on my illness and the what if’s…..

What is a mandala?

A mandala is a complex abstract design that is usually circular in form.

In fact, “mandala” is a Sanskrit word that means “circle”.

Mandalas generally have one identifiable center point,

from which emanates an array of symbols, shapes and forms.

Mandalas can contain both geometric and organic forms.

They can also contain recognizable images that carry meaning for the person who is creating it.

In essence, mandalas represent the connection between our inner worlds and outer reality.

Designing your own mandalas can be both inspirational and therapeutic.

There are printable versions of mandalas if you’re not so artistically inclined like myself

I do love coloring and don’t do it enough I’d love to go to the “Canvas Cafe” Thursday night but I was invited out to a “girls night” there are only four of us we are planning on bowling on the Wii and maybe playing a game called Sequence , while enjoying pizza, snacks, wine and beer, when we get tired we’ll put our onesies on and go to bed cause we all must go to work in the morning.

Opening eyes now

WOW that actually worked!!!

A Blue Monday meme

Today is Blue Monday

blue monday

The idea behind Blue Monday is based on six factors such as weather (W), debt (d), time since Christmas (T), time since failing our new year’s resolutions (Q), low motivational levels (M) and feeling a need to take action (Na).

It was calculated that most of these events would come into play by the third week of the month.

It was actually a gimmick for a travel company back in 2005.

Here is your Monday Meme

If you were home alone in the middle of the night,
and you heard a fart
Would you laugh or be scared?

ok maybe this is a little immature and in poor taste but others have used the “f” word and immature content…:D

I hope this silly meme has put a smile on your face and made your blue Monday a little smile ier.

Ginger Tea, A Medicinal Treat from IndiaMy first visit to India in 1995 was an unforgettable experience.  For me, it was a revelation and I loved every bit of it — the color, the culture, the contrasts and the food.  Unfortunately, as so often happens when we are working hard and playing hard, I came down with one of the worst chest colds I have ever had.

My work schedule was incredibly full and, with only a few weeks to do about three months worth of work, downtime was not an option.  Fortunately, one of my Indian colleagues also happened to be a medical doctor.  So, I turned to her for advice.

To my surprise, she recommended two therapies:  (a) inhaling medicinal steam from a neti pot; and (b) ginger tea.  Coming from the United States and having no knowledge of ayurvedic medicine, these recommendations did not make me feel particularly optimistic.  However, desperation compelled

I like wine

To celebrate my 190th post I thought I share a song with you as you can see I’ve changed the words to Tom Halls song “I Like Beer” . 😀

I Like Wine

In some of my posts I have casually mentioned
The fact that I like to drink wine
This little song is more to the point
Roll out the barrel and lend me your ears

I like wine. It makes me a jolly good lassie
I like wine. It helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (Makes her feel mellow)
Whiskey’s too rough, champagne costs too much, vodka puts my mouth in gear
This little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact I like wine
(she likes wine)

My hubby often frowns when we’re out on the town
And I’m wearing a dress and a broach
He’s sipping vermouth and he thinks I’m uncouth
When I yell as the waiter goes by

Last night I dreamed that I passed from the scene
And I went to a place so sublime
Aw, the water was clear and tasted like wine
Then they turned it all into beer (awww)

I like wine. It makes me a jolly good lassie
I like wine. It helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (Makes her feel mellow)
Whiskey’s too rough, champagne costs too much, and vodka puts my mouth in gear
Aw, this little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact I love wine
(Yes, she likes wine)

Lyrics | Tom T. Hall lyricsI Like Beer lyrics

On a cold February night

She’d gone to bed early with her two young daughters all three of them tucked in and cozy.  They lived in an old home that became very very cold in the winter.  It was a terribly cold night in February. She just happened to wake up to hear an odd sound and saw an orange glow coming from the side of the bed, she lifted her head only to see flames shooting out of the electrical outlet.  She only had time to yell her husband’s name and started to  grab her sleeping children from their sleep.  The flames quickly engulfed the top of the bed with the flames spreading so quickly that her oldest daughter was scooped up by her father just as the flames were singeing her beautiful blonde locks. She had never seen fire move so quickly it had totally taken over the bed the three had been in within seconds.

They had no time to think as they ran down the stairs and out into the frigid night air.  They’d called their dogs to the safety of the now warming vehicle , the fire department had been called and had arrived just minutes later but had felt like hours.

They sat on the side of the road watching helplessly from their vehicle, as the firefighters try in vain to put the fire out and save their home.

They lost almost everything that night, except each other and the love of their family , friends and community all of whom gathered up donations of money, clothing, toiletries and books and toys for the girls along with much-needed emotional support.

There had been three volunteer Fire Departments dispatched that night, the firefighters care, concern and professionalism went beyond trying to save the family’s home, for all they did that night and the days to come she would be forever grateful.
