I would say “Happy Wednesday!” but I’m not saying it today!
It was not a happy day to start, I should have stayed in bed!
Although if you take into consideration that I woke up I guess maybe it was a happy day after all depending on who you talk to 😀 😀
Bentley had a sleepover last night, he and I love sleepovers!
You can read about Bentley baby here ,here, here and here!! 😀 😀
I had made some chocolate mounds/haystacks last night and the girls and I ate a few, there were about 15-20 of them left separated by wax paper.
I put them in a Tupperware container with the lid on and left them on the counter.. 😦
He is not quite 1 yet, still a puppy for another 2+ years!
He had thrown up this morning and was very dopey, even during the car ride to work.
I had only been at work about an hour and kept checking on him, calling his name, checking his breathing. I called the vet and she suggested bringing him in to check his vitals.
It was strongly advised to “hospitalize” him for the day and possibly the night…I called the guys to let them know what was happening. Usually they need to “force feed” charcoal but not Bentley Baby, they gave him the charcoal mixed with canned food and like magic..GONE! They gave him a sedative, an IV and some other meds I can’t pronounce and took him out every hour to pee. When I was leaving I told the vet when they took him out to pee/poop that he would circle numerous times until he found the perfect spot!!! *Once a mother, always a mother* That’s like telling Buddha how to stay calm….REALLY did I actually say this to the vet and get away with it?! She had a huge smile on her face and said they would take good care of him. 😀
He stayed the afternoon, during his stay, he pulled out his IV they needed to put it in his other arm and “CONE” him, even sedated he was a handful and I was called asking when I could pick him up *Laughing out Loud*!!(that part really is not true, just tried to add some draawma to the story) They did however call and say he was ready to go home, the guys were not scheduled back home until later tonight so I went and picked him up, we were only at the house for about 10 minutes when they arrived they must have driven at a great speed to get home from the “Big Smoke” to see their boy!
Poor Bentley Baby is back home with the guys tonight with blackened lips from the charcoal and a clean system and the dreaded “CONE”.
The Vet and Vet technician that looked after Bentley were amazing and treated me with the same kindness.
I was waiting for the vet to come and talk to me when the receptionist came in and said the vet would be a few more minutes and offered coffee or tea and I declined but in typical Angie style requested a Scotch on the rocks!! sorry Mum 😀
So I guess it was a pretty amazing day after all!!!
