Ready, set, done!

Daily Prompt – 10 minutes. You and your keyboard (or smartphone. Or tablet. Or pen and paper). No pauses, no edits, no looking back: it’s free-write time!

It’s 11:22, I’ve got until 11:32 to type whatever I like with no pauses, not, edits and no looking back…..will be just babble I’m sure, I’m feeling a little pressure though, I’ve cleared my head and am hoping the words just come to me 😀

It’s 11:23 now, I always get hungry around 11:30 ish.  I don’t often eat breakfast unless its on the weekend. I feel like having pasta for lunch.

Hmmm still 11:23.  Time seems to be standing still 😦

Ok Ang choose something to write about…..

Did you know that there are 75 days until Christmas? Well that was a totally random thought wasn’t it?  😀

Hmmm….11:23!  Think Think Think…..arrrggghhhhh

I think I’m overthinking this whole free write time.  I tend to do that “overthink”.  I’m a Libra and often am indecisive, so maybe that’s not it, I’m not overthinking at all, I’m just being indecisive..? I’m always “weighing” things just like the scales of my zodiac sign, back and forth, back and forth.

If you looked up the characteristics of a Libra you’d likely find a photo of me beside it.  me1  😀

I’m team player at work and home, I avoid all types of conflicts, my nickname used to be “non confrontational Ang”, I hate conflict, I can’t imagine life without a life partner. I am sociable, graceful,*snicker, snicker*, polite and admire beauty in all its forms. What you see is what you get nothing phoney here folks, I love to use my brain, I am usually diplomatic and strive to have peace, harmony and equality in my life and those around me. Oh almost forgot, terribly indecisive.

Omgosh time is almost up!!!!!

Thank you for reading through my rambling this has been kind of fun!

Hope you have a happy Thursday!!

Daily prompt – Upturned Noses

Upturned Noses

Even the most laid back and egalitarian among us can be insufferable snobs when it comes to coffee, music, cars, beer, or any other pet obsession where things have to be just so. What are you snobbish about?

I would have to say if I were snobbish about anything it would be tea!!! I never ever drink bagged tea.
I think it’s gross  gross face.

I absolutely love loose leaf teas.  Loose leaf teas are made from the finest hand-picked buds, whole tea leaves, large pieces of leaves or a combination of all.  The time of year and growing conditions affect the quality of tea.  This gives you a richer more flavorful cup of tea.

Tea found in tea bags are often full of smaller pieces of tea leaves or tea fannings, or “tea dust” yuck ,which may give a quicker brew, but lack the full flavor of the larger loose leaf teas, there are many new teas on the market now with larger leaves in them and you can buy bags for your loose leaf tea,  but I still prefer to put it in a tea pot and let it steep, always bring your water to the tea and never the tea to water… Some loose leaf teas can be re-steeped giving you many cups of flavorful bang for your buck tea. Tea bags can release more tannins than loose teas giving your tea a harsher flavor.

Tea bags often contain mixtures of tea and you really have no idea whether your “black tea” is really pure “black tea”.  Loose leaf teas are always made with larger tea leaves so you can easily see the quality in your tea.  Once you try loose leaf tea you may never buy bagged tea again.  I mix and match my tea leaves often, a blend I love is one my grandmother used to make, Black assam tea mixed with oolong.  They do cost a little more but are well worth the money.

Just sayin’

Daily Prompt

Unknown Caller

You receive a call from an unexpected person. Who is it, and what is the conversation about? Go!

The phone starts to ring, everyone runs around in a mad panic to find the phone, finally someones found it.

“Who is it ?” I yell.

“It says unknown caller” Daughter # 2 says

“Probably just a bill collector” I say 😀 😀

Daughter #2 picks up

“MUMMY it’s for you!”

I whisper “who is it?”

“I don’t know, just take the phone” she says quickly as she goes back to her evening of Facebook , Instagram and texting….

“Hello Angie Grapevine”   tee hee hee

“This is Mr. Goodnews, I’m calling to notify you that your third cousin, twice removed on your Mothers side has passed away and has left his estate to you ”

I say “Yes” 😀

“His Estate is worth 5 million dollars”

I say “Yes” 😀

“This inheritance does come with one condition….”

I say “Yes” 😀

“You must give it all away to any organizations that you choose”…………..(Daily Prompt – Charitable)

You’ve inherited $5 million, with instructions that you must give it all away — but you can choose any organizations you like to be the beneficiaries. Where does the money go?

I knew right away what I was going to do…..

Make a Wish Foundation – 1.5 million

Ontario SPCA and Humane Society -50,000

Local Food Banks – 25,000

Sick Childrens Hospital – 1.5 million

Then with 75,000

I would  give to various other charities.

And with the final 25,0000.00 I would create an organization called Greedy Grapes and move to Tuscany, Italy to make Greedy Grape wine , and live in a Villa high on a hill so I could look down on all my grapes and I would buy unicorns and plant Skittles so I could have rainbows all the time and then I would hire a tutor to teach me how to add!!

and thank my dear old third cousin twice removed on my mothers side.

😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

Daily Prompt – Comfort Zone

Daily Prompt: Comfort Zone

What are you more comfortable with — routine and planning, or laissez-faire spontaneity?

I’ll make this short and sweet 😀

Usually I’m more comfortable with routine and planning I don’t usually like the unexpected …there is something to be said for routine 😀

over the last 26 almost 27 years I have had children and animals running around and I need routine I guess I’ve lost my knack to be spontaneous, there has never been room for it….

which brings me to the second part of the question 😀

As far as laissez-faire spontaneity

I’ll have to be honest

I’m not a huge fan

I like to know what going to happen and when there are occasions where spontaneity does play a role in my life but not too often.

Happy Saturday

Daily Prompt – Call me Ishmael

Daily Prompt

The Challenge

Take the first sentence from your favorite book and make it the first sentence of your post.

At midnight, the dogs, cats and rats rule Venice.

Venice is known by many names, The Floating City, La Dominante, The City of Bridges, it is also known as one of Europes most romantic cities and the birthplace of Antonio Lucio Vivaldi “il Prete Rosso”

Vivaldi was a brilliant  Italian composer, Catholic priest, and magnificent violinist.

What some don’t know is that the spirit of Antonio Lucio Vivaldi, also rules the streets of Venice at midnight.

Vivaldi wrote the Four Seasons, four violin concertos depicting scenes appropriate for each of the four seasons.

Vivaldi represented flowing creeks, singing birds of different species, each specifically characterized, barking dogs, buzzing mosquitoes, crying shepherds, storms, drunken dancers, silent nights, hunting parties from both the hunters’ and the prey’s point of view, frozen landscapes, ice-skating children, and warming winter fires.

If you listen in the quiet of the cooling Venice nights, you can hear the faint sounds of Vivaldis Four Season concertos….along with the dogs, cats and rats who sit quietly each night to listen to the beautiful sounds of Vivaldis Venice, the most romantic city in Europe.

Vivaldi died at the age of 63 on a July evening in 1741 at the stroke of midnight of “internal infection”.

My first sentence is from The Midwife of Venice written by Roberta Rich.

Another Daily Prompt. Challenge

Challenge :

If you had to choose between being able to write a blog (but not read others’) and being able to read others’ blogs (but not write your own), which would you pick? Why?

This is a really, really tough choice!
What to choose , What to choose…
I would have to choose to write my blog.
Why, you ask?
Because I love to share what I learn, and the thoughts that swim inside my head with the masses. 🙂
The Prima Donna in me has spoken.

Another Daily Prompt Challenge

Challenge :

Picture the one person in the world you really wish were reading your blog.

Write her or him a letter

I know you get busy and have a lot on your mind,  but it would mean so much to me if you would just take a few minutes each day to read my blog,  it would take your mind elsewhere just for a little while and you might even have a good laugh.

I share quite a bit on my blog , silly jokes, awesome drink recipes, Totally useless bits of information and a lot of other random things I think up.   I’ve started another blog for Kirsten called Quotes for Kirty .

Angies Grapevine is one of the privileged recipients who won the “Beautiful Blogger Award”, I was so thrilled when I was nominated by a wonderful woman I only know through these WordPress Pages.

Pretty awesome eh? 🙂

Maybe I’ll write a piece on your obsession with your new Bolens Tractor….

I’ve been feeling  as though your missing out on a pretty important part of me, by not reading what I write….this “blogging” is important to me and I’d love for you  to see what I’m up too. 🙂

Hugs and kisses

Daily Prompt – Take it from Me

Another Daily Prompt. Challenge

Challenge :

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve given someone that you failed to take yourself?

The best piece of advice I have given and do not always follow myself is “Don’t worry about what other people think, just be yourself.”
I must admit I often don’t follow this advice myself … I do my best and usually what you see is what you get but I think we all wear some sort of mask from time to time…. Something I need to work on….
One more….Be yourself cause everyone else is taken ≈ not sure who wrote it but I like it 🙂

A fellow blogger Hope*The happy Hugger posted what I often give as advice and don’t follow myself.

It had been an unusually hot day, she had covered a lot of ground in a short time.

Ruby stopped for a while to rest before continuing on, she didn’t have much time until night fall.

She continued to make headway into the setting sun, she knew she had to quicken her pace.

When darkness fell the elephant had reached the shores of Helga Lake and decided to do more than simply quench her thirst.
