The Sleepover with Beeemmmuuuuurrrrr

I started working for “the man” about 3 years ago, he had 2 dogs lovely dogs Lincoln and Caddie short for Cadillac, they became my co-workers and companions.

Lincoln was 17 when he passed away.  Caddie and I were left with just each other.  Caddie was only 7, and had gone to the groomer , and “the man” had received a phone call that Caddie could not stand up and his breathing was erratic and they were taking him to the vet ,  Caddie passed away just hours later, he had tumors throughout his body, he never showed any signs of being ill,  some of the tumors started to bleed and there was really nothing that they could do for him, my daughter and I went to the vets office to say our good byes.

It was just awful for the next few weeks, “the man” started to look for a puppy against my wishes 🙂 I felt he should find a dog from the shelter,  however he found  the most gorgeous puppy and had brought him home within a few weeks and named him BMR. Beemur

BMR (Beemer)

He has been my constant companion ever since, spending 6 – 7 hours a day together.

I often say to people, that “the man” has this thought in his head that  BMR is his dog, silly man, he is soooo my dog. 🙂

So back to the story

“The man” goes to Florida once a month for a week, and my family and I care for BMR,  he’s been having sleepovers at our house since he was “knee-high to a grasshopper”

I already have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a degu and a rat and various fish, the children and Paul.

It makes for a very busy household especially at supper time.

Tonight he is sleeping over because “the man” has gone to the big city to do his Christmas shopping, attend a fancy Christmas Party, see the dentist, and visit his mother.  🙂

As soon as we got home and I let him out of the car, he bolted for the front door and could hardly contain his excitement, my two dogs were on the other side of the door joining in on the joyous reunion.   The barking, howling and shenanigans began.  Running circles around each other, jumping, and yes more barking.  Bmr  has a great night so far, and has as usual made himself quite at home again.

My “old” dog Sim’s is sometimes not the most patient of girls, so there can be quite a bit of growling and quick barks, never bites just lots of warning signals, Scamps is a small dog and loves to bark when BMR is here, he just gets so darn excited 🙂

He is mindful of the cats when he visits they have the power and authority to put any thoughts of play or mischief out of his head.

They are finally all asleep after lots of frolicking in the snow, ball chasing, and rough housing outside,  Sim’s is in her chair, and Bmr and Scampie are on a big fleecy blanket on the floor.  Soon I’ll go to bed and they’ll all be there fighting for space and Paul will try to gain some control of the sheets and his piece of real estate on the proverbial bed.

Always wanted to use that word in a sentence proverbial …….

Bmr will be back again in January for a whole 10 days this time. Can’t wait.
