Its Thanksgiving day in Canada
and
it’s also Meatless Monday
So I thought this appropriate
😀 😀 😀
I was cleaning out the freezer and found our leftover cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving , we usually make it from scratch never finish it all and I just toss it in the freezer and forget about it.
Cranberries pack multiple disease-fighting properties and are well-known for their ability to prevent urinary tract infections . Cranberries also contain nutrients that act as antibiotics, combat the herpes virus, maintain gastrointestinal and oral health, prevent kidney stones and cancer and help to manage cholesterol.
All you need to receive these nutritional benefits is to drink 4 to 8 oz. of cranberry juice a day.
I’ve found a few great ways to use it up:

I know this drink recipe is not very Thanksgiving-ish…but it’s a super duper easy delicious one!!
A friend of mine who shall remain nameless looveess vodka.
She justifies drinking it by mixing it with Cranberry Juice 🙂
It’s actually quite good.
She mixes vodka, ginger ale and cranberry with ice. So So good.
There probably is a name for it but I just call it Good!
I just mix about 1 ounce of vodka with equal-ish parts of ginger ale and cranberry….
Little heavy on the cranberry
Enjoy
Hope everyone has a beautiful Thanksgiving Weekend!!
Starting the Monday after Thanksgiving :), I aim to lose 25 pounds.
My ideal, healthy weight is 120 – 125, I am now approximately 150.
25 pounds thats about 5 bags potatoes I’m carrying around on a daily basis!!
It’s not good for my heart, my joints or any of my other vital organs…not to mention none of my jeans fit very well anymore.
So
I’m going to give myself about 8 wks to meet my goal.
I somehow think this is totally unrealistic for me as I do love food and have as of yet not learned to push my plate away! This is also the first time I’ve tried to lose weight.
I have a desk job which requires I sit for most of my day, my children are older and more independent, and don’t need me to play with them outside or take them for walks anymore I just haven’t been as active as I used to be.
I love yoga so that is definitely on my list, and as most of you know I like the odd glass of wine now and then 🙂 so I’ll have to cut that out…maybe just cut down a bit, summer is over so this should be easier.
My girlfriends and I had started going to “the gym” earlier this year, then we all became too busy over the summer, so I think this is something we/I should start again, and at “the gym” they have a “Hypervibe” machine which I love, you just stand there and get jiggled around for about 10 minutes and it’s equivalent to a 60 minute workout!!
I am also going to make an effort to make sure I fit excercise into my day everyday, which I have obviously not been making time for.
I have one week to prepare and I’ll be able to indulge over the Thanksgiving weekend and..
start fresh on Monday.
🙂
I have a birthday coming up, each birthday is a milestone for me seriously, and I don’t usually have a birthday wish list, but this year I do.
Ok Ok here it is:
I would like to go camping with my younger brother and sister.
I’m sure they’ll be thrilled.
Unfortunately Thanksgiving this year falls on my birthday weekend which is when I wanted to drag them out to spend time with me, so I’m hoping if they are agreeable which I’m confident they will I’d like to go the following weekend and if that doesn’t pan out maybe after Christmas, sometime in mid January?!
I am after all hosting the family Thanksgiving meal again for the 6th consecutive year! Gosh all the cooking for all those people, the planning, the preparations, ugggh, I’m tired just thinking about it, and all on my birthday…..maybe I’ll bake a birthday cake for dessert.
I really want to spend time with the two of them, freezing our butts off, drinking cocoa, somewhere in beautiful Ontario.
Crazy? Well heck ya! That’s the only way we know how to do things in my family.
I was married when my brother was 10 and I’m sure he was pleased when he became an uncle at the age of 11 and was renamed “Uncle Fru Fru” at 13! Your welcome.
My sister and I are very close in age and are pretty good friends at the moment 🙂
All I really would like is for the three of us to spend time together.
I’m sure they’ll make my wish come true since they love me dearly and know that I never ask for anything. I am after all their older sister and have guided them well through their youth 🙂
Come to think of it …I think I showed them how to build the famous “Yellow Castle” . Good times. 🙂
I loved that castle!
